My boyfriend compares me with his ex girlfriend

You're all dressed up for the prom and feeling pretty good, when your boyfriend casually mentions that your floor-length gown would look better on his taller ex.

Solution:

Bursting into tears and exploding in anger isn't going to help any! Keep your intense negative emotions in check by calmly delivering non-confrontational comebacks such as: "Why would you want to hurt my feelings?" This way, your boyfriend will realize that comparing you with other girls (especially his ex or exes) is a major no-no! Not only is it distasteful, it's just plain rude! I mean, could he take it if you start measuring him up with your ex who was the star soccer player? (And though it's a tempting prospect, don't retaliate and stoop that low or you'll be just as bad as he is!)
